BIOGRAPHY

Gary Anderson was born in Sydney, Australia. His love for music started at the young age of 7, influenced by a musical family. The household was always filled with music, and he and his brothers would sit by Their father in the evenings and listen to him singing along to records of Jim Reeves, Charley Pride, Tom Jones, Elvis and others. Another Strong influence was his Uncle (George) who sang and performed live in England and Australia with a repertoire of songs from the 50’s & 60’s as well as country music and Elvis classics.

From the age of 6 to the age of 18 years of age Gary was also a very successful young athlete and a sprint champion, winning state titles at the 100 and 200m. Little did anyone know that this athletic ability would also be a benefit and hold him in good stead for his music career in years to come, giving him that enhanced agility and the high energy now seen in his live stage performances.

At age 10 still having a great passion and love for music Gary began playing guitar and would belt out a variety of Country and Rock ‘n’ Roll songs accompanied by his young brother playing the Drums on Ice cream containers. He would also put on Musical plays for his friends and family and in 7th grade he got up at a school assembly with his brother (now playing on a real set of Drums) and he performed and sang the old hits “Blueberry Hill ” and “Hello Mary Lou” in front of the whole school.

By 16 Gary had put together his own band and was the lead guitarist for the band. But after holding many auditions they struggled for weeks to find a good Front man singer, so he took on the role himself. Little did he know that this would be the start of a career for him as a singer and entertainer.

For the first 2 years of playing out at pubs, Gary was still too young to drive, so his Mum and Dad would take him to his gigs. His parents were tremendous support and were his biggest fans.

The next three years saw Gary really pay his dues as he worked hard in some of the most rough pubs and dives. But he continued to go from strength to strength, developing as a performer and performing wherever they could get gigs.   One day during a gig, he was spotted by a booking agent named Danny Flynn. Danny loved what he saw in Gary and so began booking Gary into “Clubs” and better venues. Taking him out of the pub circuit, and working Gary in a better but more demanding environment, which would help polish up the act and further develop him as an entertainer.

With new management and better venues to perform in Gary began to really develop as an artist, writing songs and performing shows from Clubs to corporate functions and then onto cruise ships throughout South East Asia, eventually opening for many major acts in main showrooms. Whilst touring he was Spotted by an American record producer  George Tobin  who had Produced records for Kim Karnes, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, The Commodores, Kenny Rogers, Thelma Houston and Tina Turner. Tobin had also just finished producing and managing teen pop sensation “Tiffany”.

He really loved what he saw in Gary and told him “You have a Magic. And You have a great stage presence.” George encouraged Gary to come over and live in America for a period, and told him that in particular he should spend time in Nashville where he could look around, listen to, get a feel for and hone his skills even further working with the best in the world.

After spending sometime in America and gaining Much experience Gary returned to Australia and began developing and working on a new show.

Now, Having worked in over 8 countries, Gary’s talents and performance skills are shining through and he has developed a very solid, polished show. In Australia it is also proving a Real hit, with sell-out shows at major Casino’s, clubs and theatre showrooms where it continues to grow and gain tremendous popularity. (See video clips). The next step of the plan will be to move Gary to the US market and begin touring and building a fan base there.
